Broncos vs. Chiefs Week 12 Odds
KANSAS CITY, MO (The Spread) – The Broncos look to stay red-hot when they travel to Kansas City this weekend to take on the last-place Chiefs.
DENVER: The Broncos have now won five straight games after beating the Chargers 30-23 last Sunday in Denver. Peyton Manning continues to make his case for MVP after completing 25-of-42 passes for 270 yards with three touchdowns and one interception. Brandon Stokley caught four passes for 55 yards and a touchdown, while Eric Decker hauled in two passes for 23 yards and a score. The victory came with a price, however, as Willis McGahee suffered a leg injury and will now miss the next 6-8 weeks. Ronnie Hillman, who rushed 12 times for 43 yards last week, will replace McGahee as the starter. The Broncos are now 7-3 overall and have a stranglehold on first place in the AFC West. And after failing to cover as a 7.5-point favorite last Sunday, they’re now 6-4 against the spread this season.
KANSAS CITY: The Chiefs lost their seventh game in a row and their ninth of the season last Sunday in a 28-6 defeat to the Bengals. Brady Quinn completed 9-of-14 passes for just 95 yards while Matt Cassel didn’t fair much better (8-for-16 for 93 yards). Jamaal Charles also rushed for 87 yards on 17 carries while Tony Moeaki was the leading receiver with four catches for 73 yards. The Chiefs failed to cover the 3-point spread for the fourth time in their last five games and are now 3-7 against the number this season. The under has hit in two straight games and in three of Kansas City’s last four contests.
ODDS: According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Broncos are 10.5-point favorites over the Chiefs, while the over/under total is currently sitting at 44 points. Denver is 7-3 overall and 3-2 on the road, while Kansas City is 1-9 overall and 0-5 at home.
TRENDS: The Broncos are 4-1 against the spread in their last five games versus the Chiefs in Kansas City, while the road team is 6-1 ATS in the last seven meetings between these two teams. That said, the underdog is a perfect 5-0 against the number in the last five meetings.
