Texans vs. Jets Odds
The New York Jets have squeaked out a couple of road wins over the last few weeks, but now the Jets return home in Week 11 when they take on Houston at 1PM ET on Sunday.
The Jets are 7-2 on the season but just 2-2 at home while the Texans are 4-5 on the season and 2-2 on the road. Trends show that the Texans are 0-4 against the spread in their last four meetings with the Jets. The under has hit in the last four games of this series.
Oddsmakers from online sportsbook SBGGLOBAL have made the Jets a 7-point favorite at home against the Texans while the over/under has been set at 45.5. (View Matchup).
The opening point spread odds had the Jets favored by 7 points and the spread dipped down to 6.5 points before moving back up to 7. The over/under total opened at 44.5 points and climbed up to as high as 46 before dropping back to 45.5.
The Jets have won back-to-back overtime games on the road over the last two weeks. In all games that they have won, they have scored at least 23 points, but they have been held 9 points or less in both losses. The Jets offense is averaging 23.1 points per game and is near the top of the NFL with 150.7 rushing yards per game. Defensively, New York ranks third in the NFL in scoring defense, giving up 16.7 points per game. They are holding opponents to just 89.6 rushing yards per game and have 20 sacks as a team.
Houston has lost three straight games, losing the last two weeks by a touchdown. The Texans have given up at least 27 points in all their losses, as they rank second to last in the league in scoring defense. The Texans are giving up 409.7 yards per game on defense, including over 300 passing yards per game. Offensively, the Texans are averaging 24.1 points per game and 372.9 yards per game. While being known as a passing attack, it is the rushing of Arian Foster that has been the catalyst of the offense. Foster has 920 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns on the season, both are leage-highs.
In terms of injuries, Houston quarterback Matt Schaub is probable to play despite suffering a bursa sac injury during the week. Tight end Owen Daniels is out for the game with a hamstring injury. Jets cornerbacks Marquice Cole and Dwight Lowery are both doubtful to play with respective injuries.
