Opening odds had Atlanta favored by 3 and that hasn’t changed all week. The over/under total opened at 42.5 and that climbed up to 43.5 during the week before dropping back to the opening point.
Atlanta has the best record in the NFL thanks to a three-game winning streak that has saw the Falcons win their last three by 7 points or less, including a 26-21 win over Baltimore last weekend. On offense, the Falcons are averaging 24.7 points and 369.2 yards per game. They have a good balance on offense as they average 128 rushing yards per game and 241.2 passing yards per game. The air attack has been largely helped by the play of Roddy White, who has 70 receptions for 934 yards and seven touchdowns. The Atlanta defense is holding opponents to just 19.4 points per game, including 98.1 rushing yards per game. As a team the Falcons have 14 interceptions, which is among the best in the league.
The Rams have lost two of their last three but have been tough at home, winning their last four. The key to their mild success has been the surprisingly positive play of rookie quarterback Sam Bradford, who has thrown for 1,925 yards and 12 touchdowns to just eight interceptions. Running back Steven Jackson has aided him by rushing for 757 yards on the year. The St. Louis defense is allowing just 18.2 points and 325.8 yards per game on defense and they are tied for the league lead in sacks with 28.
In terms of injuries, Atlanta defensive end John Abraham is questionable to play due to a groin injury while St. Louis receiver Danario Alexander is questionable with a knee injury.
Over 39,000 public bets have been placed on this game and Atlanta is getting 78% of the wagers at -3 against the Rams on Sunday.
