Rams vs. 49ers Odds
The St. Louis Rams are looking to get over the .500 mark and win their first road game on Sunday when they take on the San Francisco 49ers at 4:15PM ET.
The Rams are 4-4 this season but just 0-3 on the road while the 49ers are 2-6 overall and 2-2 at home. The Under has hit in seven of the last eight meetings between the two teams and the Rams are just 8-20-2 against the spread in their last 30 games with the 49ers.
Oddsmakers from online sports book BroburySports.com have made San Francisco a 6-point favorite at home against the Rams. The over/under has been set at 38.
Opening odds had the 49ers favored by 6 points and the spread climbed up to 6.5 during the week and fell to 5.5 before settling back at 6. The over/under total opened at 38.5 and dropped the hook during the week.
The Rams are coming off a bye but have won four of their last six games, losing by 1 at Tampa Bay and by 38 at Detroit as well. The Rams have posted at least 20 points in all their wins and been held under that mark in all their losses. Sam Bradford has been solid for the Rams, throwing for 1,674 yards and 11 touchdowns while having just eight interceptions. Steven Jackson has rushed for 676 yards and two touchdowns on the year as well. James Laurinaitis leads the defense with 54 tackles while James Hall has seven sacks.
San Francisco is coming off the bye and they have won two of their last three prior to that. All but two of the 49ers’ losses have come by 3 points or less. San Francisco is using Troy Smith as their starting quarterback. He has made one start and threw for 196 yards and one touchdown without an interception in a win over Denver. Frank Gore has rushed for 691 yards and two touchdowns this season while Vernon Davis has 434 receiving yards and four touchdowns.
St. Louis receiver Danario Alexander is questionable for Sunday’s game with a knee injury while safety James Butler is out with an ankle injury. San Francisco could be without Davis, who is questionable with an ankle injury while typical starting quarterback Alex Smith is out indefinitely with a shoulder injury.
