Patriots vs. Steelers Odds
Two of the AFC’s best meet in Sunday Night Football for Week 10 as the Pittsburgh Steelers host the New England Patriots.
New England is 6-2 on the season and 2-2 on the road while the Steelers are 6-2 overall and 2-1 at home. The over has hit in six of the last seven between these two teams while the Patriots have covered in five of their last six games at Pittsburgh.
Oddsmakers from online sports book BroburySports.com have made Pittsburgh a 5-point favorite at home against New England. The over/under total has been set at 45.
Opening odds had Pittsburgh favored by 4.5 points and that spread has since jumped up to 5. The over/under hasn’t changed since opening at 45.
The Patriots are coming off an embarrassing 34-14 loss to Cleveland last week. Both of the Pats’ losses have been by at least 14 points. The loss last week snapped a five-game winning streak for New England. Tom Brady has thrown for 1,826 yards and 14 touchdowns on the season while BenJarvus Green-Ellis is the leading rusher with 385 yards and six scores. Aaron Hernandez has 34 receptions for 436 yards and two scores. Jerod Mayo has 95 tackles and one sack to lead the defense.
Pittsburgh has won three of its last four. The Steelers beat Cincinnati 27-21 last week. Ben Roethlisberger has thrown for 917 yards and six touchdowns in his four starts while Rashard Mendenhall has 702 rushing yards and seven scores. Mike Wallace has 22 receptions for 507 yards and five touchdowns as well. Lawrence Timmons has led the defense with 78 tackles and three sacks while Jerome Harrison has seven sacks and 55 tackles.
New England running back Fred Taylor is questionable for Sunday’s game with a two injury while Pittsburgh defensive end Aaron Smith is out indefinitely with an arm injury and starting tackle Max Starks was put on IR this week due to a neck injury.
