PHILADELPHIA, PA (The Spread) – NFC East rivals clash on Sunday when the Eagles host the Cowboys at 4:25PM ET. With both of these teams’ playoff hopes fading, oddsmakers have installed Dallas as a small favorite.
DALLAS: The Cowboys have now lost two straight games and four of their last five. Their latest loss came at the hands of the undefeated Atlanta Falcons, who beat the ‘Boys 19-13 as a 4-point favorite last Sunday night. Tony Romo completed 25-of-35 passes for 321 yards with one touchdown, while Kevin Ogletree caught three passes for 96 yards and a touchdown. That said, Dez Bryant was held to just one catch and 15 yards, while Felix Jones rushed just nine times for 39 yards. The loss dropped Dallas to 3-5 overall and 3-5 against the spread. They’ve failed to cover the number in two straight games and in five of their last seven.
PHILADELPHIA: The Eagles have now lost four straight games and have failed to cover in three of their last four. Their latest loss came in a 28-13 defeat at the hands of the Saints on Monday Night Football. In the loss, Michael Vick completed 22-of-41 passes for 272 yards with one touchdown and one interception. LeSean McCoy did rush 19 times for 119 yards but failed to reach the end zone, while DeSean Jackson caught three passes for 100 yards and a touchdown. Philadelphia fell to 3-5 on the year and 1-6-1 against the spread, with its lone cover coming in a 16-14 loss to the Steelers in Week 5.
ODDS: According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Cowboys are 1-point favorites versus the Eagles while the over/under total is currently sitting at 44.5 points. Dallas is 3-5 overall and 2-3 on the road, while Philadelphia is 3-5 overall and 2-2 at home.
TRENDS: The Cowboys are 5-2 against the spread in their last seven meetings versus the Eagles, while the underdog is 11-5 ATS in the last 16 meetings between these two teams. The under, meanwhile, is 5-2 in the last seven meetings as well.
