TAMPA, FL (The Spread) – A pair of 4-4 teams will square off in Tampa on Sunday when the Buccaneers host the Chargers at 1:00PM ET. Let’s check out the spread for this non-conference game.
SAN DIEGO: The Chargers snapped a three-game losing streak both straight up and against the spread when they beat the Chiefs 31-13 as a 7.5-point favorite last Thursday night. Philip Rivers completed 18-of-20 passes for 220 yards and two touchdowns with one interception, while Danario Alexander caught three passes for 61 yards. Malcolm Floyd and Antonio Gates both added touchdown receptions. San Diego is now 4-4 overall and 4-4 against the spread.
TAMPA BAY: The Bucs have now covered in back-to-back games and in three of the last four games. Their latest cover came in a 42-32 victory over the Raiders as a 1-point road underdog, as rookie Doug Martin took over the game on the ground. He rushed for 251 yards on 25 carries and also scored four touchdowns while breaking records in the effort. Josh Freeman was 18-of-30 for 247 yards with two touchdowns, while Vincent Jackson caught two passes for 84 yards and a score. Tampa Bay is now 4-4 overall and 6-2 against the spread.
