Vikings vs. Seahawks Week 9 Odds
SEATTLE, WA (The Spread) – Two surprising teams through Week 8 will square off in Seattle on Sunday when the Seahawks host the Vikings at 4:05PM ET.
MINNESOTA: The Buccaneers crushed the Vikings 36-17 last Thursday night in Minnesota. Adrian Peterson rushed for 123 yards on 15 carries and scored one touchdown but it wasn’t enough to overcome three Viking turnovers. Christian Ponder completed 19-of-35 passes for 251 yards with one touchdown and one interception, while Percy Harvin caught seven passes for 90 yards and one touchdown. The loss dropped Minnesota’s record to 5-3 overall and 3-4-1 against the spread as they failed to cover as a 5.5-point favorite.
SEATTLE: The Seahawks blew a late fourth quarter lead last Sunday in Detroit and were beaten 28-24 by the Lions. Russell Wilson completed 25-of-35 passes for 236 points and scored two touchdowns with one interception. Marshawn Lynch also rushed for 105 yards on 12 carries with one touchdown and Golden Tate caught seven passes for 64 yards. The loss dropped Seattle to 4-4 and 5-3 against the spread as they failed to cover as 2.5-point underdogs. That said, the Hawks have covered in three out of their last four games.
ODDS: Oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv have installed the Seahawks as 4-point favorites over the Vikings, while the over/under total is currently sitting at 38.5 points. Minnesota enters the game with a 5-3 overall record and is 1-2 overall, while Seattle is 4-4 overall and 3-0 at home.
TRENDS: The Seahawks are 5-1 against the spread in their last six home games and 5-1 ATS versus a team with a winning record. The Vikings, meanwhile, are 1-5-1 against the number in their last seven games in November.
