WASHINGTON D.C. (The Spread) – There should be plenty of offense on Sunday when the Washington Redskins host the San Diego Chargers at 1PM ET on CBS.

San Diego is 4-3 overall, 2-2 on the road and 5-1-1 against the spread. Washington is 2-5 overall, 1-2 at home and 2-5 against the spread. San Diego has won three straight meetings with Washington.

Trends show that the Chargers are 5-1-1 against the spread in their last 7 road games and in their last 7 games on grass. Washington is 0-5 against the spread in its last 5 games in Week 9.

According to oddsmakers from Bovada.lv, San Diego is the favorite on the road, as the Chargers have odds of -1 at Washington. The over/under total for the game has been set at 51 points (View Matchup). The opening odds for this game had the game as even, but the spread soon moved to the Chargers -1. The over/under total opened at 50.5 points and quickly bumped up to 51.

San Diego is coming off a bye week. The Chargers won their last two games before the bye and are looking good on offense, averaging just over 400 yards per game. Defensively, the Chargers are struggling, allowing 378.5 yards per game. Philip Rivers is leading the offense with 2,132 yards and 15 touchdowns through the air. Antonio Gates has added 42 catches for 497 yards and two touchdowns.

Washington is coming off a 45-21 loss at Denver last week. The Redskins have struggled to be consistent on either side of the ball. The offense is averaging 394.4 yards per game while the defense is giving up 397.1 yards per game. Quarterback Robert Griffin III has thrown for 1,878 yards and nine touchdowns, but also has eight interceptions and five fumbles. Alfred Morris has rushed for 565 yards and four scores to help Griffin, but it isn’t producing enough points. The defense is being led by Ryan Kerrigan, who has 6.5 sacks.

In terms of Injuries, Washington linebacker Brandon Jenkins (ankle) and nose tackle Chris Neild (calf) are both questionable. San Diego tackle King Dunlap (concussion) and guard Chad Rinehart (toe) are both questionable as well.
