Jets vs. Jaguars Week 8 Prediction
The Jets are coming off an embarrassing loss Monday night as a home underdog to the Patriots and now find themselves as a road dog on Sunday in Jacksonville. Will the Jets rebound and at least post an ATS win versus the Jaguars in Week 8?

New York Jets Fantasy Spin
Brian Costello of the New York Post reports Jamison Crowder (knee) “should be fine” for Week 8 against the Jaguars. Per head coach Adam Gase, Crowder was involved in an “awkward collision” late in Thursday’s practice, though his absence for the rest of the session was merely precautionary. He doesn’t appear in danger of missing Week 8. Crowder has frequently collaborated with second-year signal-caller Sam Darnold, seeing 31 targets the three times they’ve shared the field together in 2019. That volume puts him squarely in the WR3 discussion, though his ceiling isn’t as high as other receivers in that range.
Jacksonville Jaguars Fantasy Spin
Dede Westbrook (shoulder) is questionable for the Jaguars’ Week 8 matchup against the Jets. Coach Doug Marrone confirmed that Westbrook is expected to suit up Sunday after playing through his questionable tag in Week 7. Gardner Minshew has focused the overwhelming majority of his target distribution this season on Westbrook (54 targets), D.J. Chark (48), Leonard Fournette (38) and Chris Conley (33). Chark remains the superior fantasy option thanks to his more fantasy-friendly target share as the offense’s featured deep-threat WR, but the disparity between his and Westbrook’s production likely won’t be as big as we saw in the first month of the season moving forward.
NFL Betting Trends
New York
The Jets are 2-6-1 against the spread in their last nine games overall and have failed to cover in six of their last eight games when playing on Sunday coming off a Monday night game.
Jacksonville
The Jaguars are 4-0 against the spread in their last four conference games but are just 2-5-1 against the number in their last eight home games.
Prediction
The Jets pulled off a stunning upset two weeks ago at home versus the Cowboys but that was more about Dallas playing sloppy than New York being a better team that its record would indicate. The Jets will be without linebacker C.J. Mosley (groin) on Sunday, which is a problem given that Leonard Fournette has rushed for at least 118 yards in four consecutive games. The Jets could find some running room versus a banged-up Jacksonville squad but ultimately I see the Jags pulling away in a similar fashion to a week ago in Cincinnati. The Jets are just 3-8 against the spread in their last 11 games versus the Jaguars.
NFL Week 8 Prediction: Jacksonville Jaguars -6.5
