Jets at Raiders Pick

The stumbling New York Jets look to rebound this week as they travel West to take on the Oakland Raiders at 4:05PM ET on Sunday.

Bet NFL Week 7

The Jets lost a heartbreaker last Sunday to the Bills in overtime as 9.5-point favorites. Mark Sanchez threw five interceptions in the 16-13 loss and only threw for only 119 yards. Thomas Jones rushed for 210 yards and a touchdown on 22 carries.

The Raiders shocked the football world with their 13-9 win over the Eagles in Week 6. JaMarcus Russell threw for 224 yards and a touchdown, while Zach Miller caught six passes for 139 yards and a touchdown. Oakland’s defense sacked Donovan McNabb six times as the Raiders covered as 14.5-point underdogs.

Oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL.com have made the Jets 7-point favorites over the Raiders in Week 7. The over/under total for this game has been set at 35 points.

This is a matchup of two teams that had vastly different outcomes in their last game. The Jets have been horrendous lately, losing three in a row as the rookie Sanchez continues to struggle. Meanwhile, the Raiders rebounded from a horrible effort two weeks ago to pull off a surprising upset.

We know that the Jets haven’t been playing well, but we’re going to focus on the Raiders. Even though they beat the Eagles last week, they’re not going to suddenly turn things around. Russell will struggle against Rex Ryan’s defense and the Raiders won’t score many points.

As long as the Jets take the game off Sanchez’s shoulders and put it squarely on their running game, they should be fine. They probably won’t trounce the Raiders, but they should cover the spread.

Our NFL Week 7 Free Pick for this matchup is: NEW YORK JETS -7 and UNDER 35.
