There isn’t one marquee matchup this Sunday in the NFL but there’s certainly an underrated one in Detroit where the Lions will host the Cowboys at 1:00PM ET. According to oddsmakers from the MGM Mirage, Dallas is a 3-point road underdog versus a Detroit team coming off a last-second loss to the Bengals at home last Sunday. The total for this game is sitting at 51 points.

NBC and ESPN can’t be thrilled with their primetime matchups this week. On Sunday night the Packers will visit the 1-5 Vikings coming off a brutal effort in New York on Monday night against the Giants. Green Bay is a sizable 9.5-point road favorite versus Minnesota, which is likely to start Josh Freeman under center again despite him struggling mightily in his Vikings debut on Monday.

This week’s Monday Night Football matchup doesn’t figure to be better than that Vikings-Giants contest that ESPN was forced to air in Week 7. NFC West rivals will square off at 8:30PM ET when the Rams host the Seahawks, who are 11-point road favorites for this game. St. Louis, of course, was forced to place starting quarterback Sam Bradford on season-ending injured reserve after he tore his ACL in a loss to the Panthers last weekend. The Rams will start Kellen Clemens and figure to struggling offensively.

The other primetime matchup is on Thursday night when the Bucs host the Panthers in a battle of NFC South foes. With Tampa Bay sitting at 0-6 on the season and 0-3 at home, Carolina is currently a 6.5-point road favorite in Las Vegas and the over/under total is sitting at 40 points.
