Matthew Stafford completed 22-of-45 passes for 311 yards with one touchdown and one interception, while Calvin Johnson caught six passes for 135 yards. Detroit covered the 3.5-point spread, which is the first time in five games that the Lions have covered the number. The over has hit in three of Detroit’s first five games.
CHICAGO: The Bears improved to 4-1 on the year with a 41-3 victory over the Jaguars in Week 5. Jay Cutler threw for 292 yards with two touchdowns and one interception, while Matt Forte rushed 22 times for 107 yards. Brandon Marshall also caught 12 passes for 144 yards and one score as Chicago covered as a 6-point road favorite. The Bears have now covered in three consecutive games and are 4-1 against the number this season. The over is also 3-2 in the Bears’ first five games and has hit in each of Chicago’s last two contests.
ODDS: According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Bears are 6.5-point favorites over the Lions, while the over/under total is currently sitting at 47 points. The Lions enter this game with a straight up record of 2-3 and are 1-4 against the spread, while the Bears are 4-1 straight up and 4-1 ATS.
TRENDS: The over is 5-2 in the last seven meetings between these two teams in Chicago and 5-2 in the last seven meetings overall. The Lions are 1-6-1 against the spread in their last eight road games, 1-8 ATS in their last nine games versus the NFC and 0-5 ATS in their last five games versus the NFC North.
