NFL Week 7 Injury Report
The NFL Injury Report for Week 7 has some major names appearing and unlikely to suit up today. Here’s the latest news on who is in and who is out.
Gronkowski doesn’t travel
The New England Patriots are expecting to be without their top receiver as tight end Rob Gronkowski didn’t travel with the team for their 1PM ET game with the Chicago Bears today. According to oddsmakers at BetNow.eu, the Patriots are favored on the road, as they are getting odds of -2 points against the Bears. Gronkowski is dealing with ankle and back injuries that have plagued him. Gronk has a team-high 405 receiving yards this year on 26 catches, but just one touchdown. Still, he is a great blocking tight end and also has a lot of trust from Tom Brady in an offense that is lacking a lot of consistency over the season.
Tannehill out
The Miami Dolphins will once again be without starting quarterback, Ryan Tannehill, for today’s home game against the Detroit Lions at 1PM ET. Oddsmakers are listing the Dolphins as a 3-point underdog at home when they host the Lions today. Tannehill is dealing with a shoulder injury that has seemed to get worse over time. He sat out last week’s OT win over the Bears, in which Brock Osweiler got the start. Osweiler threw for 380 yards and three touchdowns in the win and also has two interceptions. The Lions come into this game with one of the better passing defenses in the NFL.
Cook out again
The Minnesota Vikings continue to be without their lead running back, Dalvin Cook, as they get set to face the New York Jets in Jersey today at 1PM ET. Cook has appeared in just three games this season because of a lingering hamstring injury. Oddsmakers are listing the Vikings as a 3.5-point favorite on the road against the Jets this afternoon. The Minnesota run game has been lacking this season, averaging just 87.3 yards per game. Even with Cook, it hasn’t gotten on track, as he has rushed for just 98 yards on 36 carries. Cook is still coming off an ACL injury from last year and hasn’t been able to find his stride with the team this year.
