Chargers on three-game win streak
The Chargers are on a three-game win streak right now following a 38-14 win at Cleveland. Los Angeles is now 4-2 on the season, 3-3 against the spread and 3-3 with the over/under total. They have covered the spread in their last two games.
The Chargers are rolling on offense right now, averaging 29.2 points and 422.3 yards per game. Philip Rivers is having an MVP-type season early with 1,702 passing yards and 15 touchdowns with just three interceptions. Melvin Gordon has been great as well, rushing for 466 yards and six scores while catching 30 passes for 279 yards and three more touchdowns. Defensively, Los Angeles is giving up 24 points and 373.3 yards per game. The Chargers run defense is holding opponents under 100 yards per game. The unit has 16 sacks and eight interceptions despite being without their top pass rusher this year in Joey Bosa.
Titans regressing
The Tennessee Titans have lost back-to-back games entering Week 7, losing to the Bills and Ravens while scoring just 12 points in the two games. The Titans are 3-3 on the season, 3-3 against the spread and 4-2 with the under. Tennessee has failed to cover in the last two games.
On the season, the Titans are really struggling on offense. They are averaging just 14.5 points and 283.3 yards per contest. Marcus Mariota has been battling an elbow injury all season and has thrown for just 793 yards and two touchdowns with four interceptions. The run game hasn’t been much better. Derrick Henry is the leading rusher with 240 yards on 72 carries. Defensively, Tennessee is giving up 17.8 points and 350.3 yards per game. They have been pretty respectable, but aren’t big on sacks or creating turnovers.
NFL Betting Trends
Los Angeles
The Chargers have covered the spread in five of their last six games in October and four of their last five against the AFC.
Tennessee
The Titans are 2-5 against the spread in their last seven following a double-digit loss at home and 1-5 ATS in their last six in October.
Prediction:
The Chargers are rolling and the Titans are certainly not. London has proven to have some crazy outcomes, but Los Angeles has only lost to the Rams and Chiefs. They have won three of their four by at least 11 points as well. Rivers and company are a well-oiled machine on offense and the Titans just don’t have the horses to compete with them. I like the Chargers to cruise.
NFL Prediction: Los Angeles Chargers -6.5
