Steelers vs. Cardinals Week 7 Odds
(The Spread) – Things don’t get any easier for the slumping Cardinals with the Steelers coming to town on Sunday.
PITTSBURGH: The Steelers have had a rocky start to the season but they’ve managed to win four of their first six games to improve to 4-2 on the year. After losing to Houston in Week 4 and drubbing Tennessee in Week 5, Pittsburgh had to hang on to beat a now 1-5 Jacksonville team 17-13 at home last Sunday. The Steelers are just 2-4 against the spread after failing to cover last week as a 12.5-point favorite. Ben Roethlisberger leads the team with 1,576 passing yards while Rashard Mendenhall has rushed for 319 yards.
ARIZONA: Things haven’t exactly gone the way the Cardinals thought they would after trading for Kevin Kolb in the offseason. Kolb has lead them to a 1-4 record and if it weren’t for 0-5 St, Louis, Arizona would be tasting the bottom of the NFC West standings. Kolb has thrown for 1,281 yards this season as Beanie Wells has accounted for six touchdowns. The Cardinals are just 2-3 against the spread and 1-1 at home this season.

ODDS: Oddsmakers have installed Pittsburgh as a 3.5-point road favorite for Sunday’s game but with the public firmly behind the Steelers, don’t be surprised if the spread climbs. The over/under total for this game is currently sitting at 42.5 points.
TRENDS: The home team is 3-0-1 against the spread in the last four meetings between these two teams, which met in the Super Bowl three years ago. The Cardinals are 1-4 against the spread versus a team with a winning record while the Steelers are 0-4 ATS in their last four road games. Pittsburgh is also 1-4 ATS in its last five October games while Arizona is 0-4 in its last four games in October.
