BUFFALO, NY (The Spread) – Following their overtime win over the Cardinals last Sunday, the Bills are favored over the Titans this weekend.
TENNESSEE: The Titans picked up their second victory of the year with a 26-23 win over the Steelers as a 5.5-point home underdog last week. Matt Hasselbeck threw for 290 yards with one touchdown and one interception on 25-of-44 passing, while Chris Johnson finally showed signs of life with his 91 yards on 19 carries. Kenny Britt and Kendall Wright also had fine performances, hauling in 4 and 6 passes each, as well as over 130 yards receiving. Still, even with the win the Titans are just 2-4 on the year and 2-4 against the spread. The over is 4-2 in Tennessee’s first six games.
BUFFALO: The Bills pulled off a 19-16 upset as a 6-point underdog last Sunday in Arizona. Ryan Fitzpatrick completed 18-of-32 passes for just 153 yards but C.J. Spiller rushed for 88 yards on 12 carries with one score and Stevie Johnson hauled in six passes for 82 yards. The win helped ease the pain of back-to-back losses and now Buffalo is in a four-way tie with the Patriots, Jets and Dolphins in the AFC East. Buffalo is also 3-3 against the spread and the over is 4-2 in the Bills’ first six games.
ODDS: According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Bills are 3.5-point favorites over the Titans, while the over/under total is currently sitting at 46.5 points. The Titans enter this game with a straight up record of 2-4 and are 2-4 against the spread, while the Bills are 3-3 straight up and 3-3 ATS.
TRENDS: The Titans are 6-2 against the spread in their last eight games versus the Bills and the underdog is 4-1 against the number in the last five meetings between these two teams. Tennessee is also 0-4-1 against the spread in its last five road games and 1-5-1 ATS in its last seven games versus the AFC, while Buffalo is 4-0 ATS in its last four games in Week 7.
