The Seahawks haven’t been a very strong road team this year, but they went into Chicago in Week 6 and pulled off an impressive upset over the Bears. Oddsmakers from online sports book Sportsbook.com had made Seattle a 6-point underdog, but the Hawks won outright, 23-20.
The Rams were 9.5-point home underdogs against the Chargers, but they too won outright. San Diego fell behind 17-3 early and could never recover, as the Bolts fell, 20-17.
The Dolphins beat up on the injury-plagued Packers, 23-20, despite being 3-point road dogs. The over/under total of 44 fell just under as the two teams combined for 43 points.
In the late games, the 49ers picked up their first win of the year while beating the Raiders, 17-9. Despite their 0-5 record coming into the day, the Niners covered as 7-point favorites.
The Vikings held on to a 24-21 win over the Cowboys and covered as 2-point favorites. The combined score went over the posted total of 43.5 points.
The Sunday night game wound up being a push, as a late touchdown by the Redskins made the final 27-24 Colts. At some online books, however, the Redskins were 4-point favorites.
The Steelers (-14), Eagles (-2.5), Saints (-5.5) and Jets (-3.5) were the other favorites that covered, while the Texans (-4) and Patriots (-3) each pushed. The Lions (+10) lost to the Giants but covered on the road in a 28-20 defeat.
