Monday Night Football Odds
(The Spread) – AFC East rivals clash in New York tonight when the Jets host the Dolphins on Monday Night Football.
MIAMI: The Dolphins enter tonight’s game still searching for their first win. Coming out of their bye, they’re 0-4 and who knows how much longer head coach Tony Sparano has before management makes a change. With Chad Henne lost for the year, Matt Moore will start under center tonight against a Jets’ secondary that features Darrelle Revis.
NEW YORK: After starting the year 2-0 the Jets have lost three straight games and are now staring up at the Patriots and Bills in the AFC East standings. They’ve been unable to run the ball and Mark Sanchez still isn’t skilled enough to carry the offense with his arm. The Jets are now 2-3 overall and just 1-4 against the spread in 2011.
ODDS/LINE MOVEMENT: The spread opened between 9 and 6.5 at most online books but the spread has settled in at New York –7. After opening at 42 in Vegas, the over/under total for this game is currently sitting at that same number despite rising to 43 during the week.
TRENDS: The Dolphins are 3-0-1 against the number in their last four road games against New York but just 6-18-2 ATS in their last 26 games overall against the Jets. The road team is 7-1-1 ATS in the last nine meetings between these two teams while the underdog is 5-0 ATS in the last five meetings.
