Falcons vs. Eagles Pick
The Falcons will be looking for their fifth win in a row on Sunday when they play the Eagles, but they’ll need to overcome an opponent that has had their number of late. Read on to check out our pick for this Week 6 matchup.
Before we get to our pick, let’s take a look at the latest odds for this game.
Oddsmakers from online sports book BroburySports.com have made the Eagles 2.5-point home favorites over the Falcons in Week 6. The over/under total for this game has been set at 42.5 points.
Atlanta is 4-1 overall this year and 3-2 against the spread. On the road thus far, they’ve won two of their last two games and are 2-1 overall, while also 2-1 against the spread with their only failed cover coming in Week 1 at Pittsburgh.
Philadelphia is 3-2 overall this season, but 2-3 against the spread. They’re also winless in two tries at home this year and have failed to cover in each of those two games.
The Pick:
The Eagles were hoping to have Michael Vick back from his injury this week to face his former team, but it appears as though Kevin Kolb will once again start under center. He may struggle against a revamped Atlanta defense that is extremely fast and aggressive. Offensively for the Falcons, they love to pound the rock with Michael Turner and Jason Snelling and although Matt Ryan has been brilliant at times this year, the deep game has been largely missing for the Falcons this year.
With that in mind, the under is our pick for what should be a defensive battle throughout. The under is 3-0-1 in the last four meetings between these two teams and 6-0-1 in the last seven meetings overall.
