EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ (The Spread) – Two AFC East rivals meet up on Sunday at 1PM ET as the New York Jets host the New England Patriots on CBS.

New England is 5-1 overall, 2-1 on the road and 3-3 against the spread. New York is 3-3 overall, 2-1 at home and 4-2 against the spread. New England has won five straight over the Jets.

Trends show that the road team is 22-8-1 against the spread in the last 31 in this series while the Patriots are 12-2 ATS in their last 14 trips to New York. These two have hit the over in 7 of their last 9 meetings.

According to oddsmakers from Bovada.lv, New England is the favorite on the road, as the Patriots have odds of -4 against the Jets. The spread hit a peak of 4.5 before moving back to 4. The over/under total hasn’t changed since opening at 43.5.

New England is coming off a 30-27 win over New Orleans at home last week. The Patriots scored in the final seconds to get the win. It was a nice showing for the Pats’ offense, which is averaging just 348.8 yards per game. Defensively, New England is allowing 345.6 yards per game. Tom Brady has thrown for 1,480 yards and eight touchdowns this season while Julian Edelman has 41 catches for 411 yards and two scores.

New York is coming off a disappointing 19-6 loss to the Steelers at home last week. It was the first win of the season for Pittsburgh. The Jets were held to just 267 yards of offense and committed two turnovers. The Jets’ offense is averaging just 336.7 yards per game while the defense is holding opponents to 303.9 yards per game. Geno Smith has thrown for 1,490 yards and seven touchdowns, but has 10 interceptions as well. David Harris is leading the defense with 52 tackles and two sacks.

In terms of Injuries, New England tight end Rob Gronkowski (forearm) is questionable while receiver Danny Amendola (head) is also questionable. New York cornerback Dee Milliner (hamstring) and receiver Santonio Holmes (hamstring) are questionable as well.
