Washington benched Dwayne Haskins for Kyle Allen but will it matter on Sunday when the Football Team hosts the Rams at 1:00 p.m. ET? The Rams are 7-point road favorites while the total sits at 45.

Jared Goff completed 25-of-32 passes for 200 yards and a touchdown in the Rams’ 17-9 Week 4 win against the Giants. Goff was terrible all day, saving his statistical day with a late 55-yard touchdown to Cooper Kupp. Goff hardly went downfield at all as the Rams ran their usual conservative offense. Goff will have touchdown-driven spike weeks — good luck guessing when those will be — but for now, he’s an iffy option in 12-team leagues. Goff will be a superflex option next week against Washington.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports Dwayne Haskins won’t start Week 5 against the Rams. The benching comes after Ron Rivera said Haskins needed to “improve greatly” to remain the starter. Haskins responded with his first 300-yard game, but it wasn’t enough to keep the job. Washington will turn to Kyle Allen, with Alex Smith taking over the backup role. Haskins could get another look later this season if Washington falls out of playoff contention.
Rams vs. Washington Betting Prediction
The underdog is 6-2 against the spread in the last eight meetings between these two teams but the better play is the under, which is a perfect 5-0 in the last five meetings between the Rams and Washington in D.C. The under is also 9-2 in the Rams’ last 11 games when favored, is 4-0 in their last four games played in October and is 4-0 in their last four road games. On the other side, the under is 10-1 in the Football Team’s last 11 games played in Week 5 and is 7-1 in the team’s last eight games played in October.
