DENVER, CO (The Spread) – The Denver Broncos have a lot of work to do if they hope to cover the spread when they face the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday at 4:05PM ET on CBS.

Denver is 5-0 on the season, 3-0 at home and 3-1-1 against the spread. Denver is 0-5 overall, 0-3 on the road and 0-5 against the spread. Jacksonville has actually won five of its last six meetings with Denver.

Trends show that the underdog has covered the spread in five of the last six between these two. They have hit the over in 7 of their last 10 meetings and in 5 of their last 6 meetings in Denver.

According to oddsmakers from Bovada.lv, Denver is the favorite at home, as the Broncos have odds of -26 points against the Jaguars. The spread was never higher and is at its low with Denver favored by 26. The over/under total opened at 51.5 points and has since made the climb up to 53.

Denver is off to an impressive 5-0 start thanks to a 51-48 win over the Cowboys last week. The Broncos are posting just under 500 yards per game and rank first in the NFL in passing yards. The defense has been struggling, allowing 416.6 yards per game. Peyton Manning has thrown for 1,884 yards and 20 touchdowns with just one interception. Demaryius Thomas and Eric Decker have combined for 63 receptions for 877 yards and nine scores. The defense is being led by Shaun Phillips, who has 5.5 sacks.

Jacksonville is 0-5 on the season following a 34-20 loss to the Rams on the road. The Jaguars are posting just 251.8 yards per game on offense, while the defense is allowing 379.8 yards per contest. The team did get Justin Blackmon back last week, and he caught five passes for 136 yards and a touchdown. Chad Henne has thrown for 601 yards and two scores in limited action as starting quarterback.

In terms of Injuries, Denver linebacker Paris Lenon (thigh) and cornerback Chris Harris (concussion) are both questionable for the game. Jacksonville tight end Marcedes Lewis (calf) is doubtful while receiver Cecil Shorts (groin) is questionable.
