Giants vs. Packers Pick
Is the total set too high in the Sunday night matchup between the Giants and Packers?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Packers are 7-point home favorites versus the Giants after opening as a 7.5-point fave. The total, meanwhile, is sitting at 48 points and hasn’t moved off that original number.
The Giants fell to 2-2 on the year with a lackluster appearance on Monday night in Minnesota. Eli Manning was just 25-of-45 passing for 261 yards with one interception as the Giants lost 24-10 to the Vikings in a rather listless performance. After winning its first two games to start 2-0, New York has dropped back-to-back contests to fall to 2-2 and is also just 1-3 against the spread.
The Packers are coming off a bye week but the week before they beat the Lions 34-27 as a 6-point favorite to improve to 2-1 on the season. Aaron Rodgers completed 15-of-24 pass attempts for 205 yards with four touchdowns and no interceptions in the victory, while Jordy Nelson went off for six catches for 101 yards and two scores. Eddie Lacy contributed to win the victory by rushing 17 times for 103 yards.

OUR PICK: Surely a lot of people think this will be a shootout but the fact of the matter is that the Giants aren’t firing on all cylinders on offense and their defense is the unit keeping them in games. The under is 7-3 in the Giants’ last 10 games in October and is 6-1 in the Packers’ last seven home games. New York will be one-dimensional versus Green Bay’s excellent run defense and thus, scoring will be suppressed. The total is set simply too high for this matchup.
