Rams vs. Seahawks TNF Prediction
Less than a week after surrendering 55 points in a home loss to the Bucs as a 9.5-point favorite, are the Rams a good play as a small underdog tonight versus the Seahawks? Kickoff is slated for 8:20 p.m. ET in Seattle.
Game Snapshot
301 Los Angeles Rams (+1.5) at 302 Seattle Seahawks (-1.5); O/U 49
8:20 p.m. ET, Thursday, October 1, 2019
CenturyLink Field, Seattle, WA
According to our NFL Public Betting Chart page, the Rams are drawing 55% of the betting tickets ahead of Thursday night’s game. At some points, the Seahawks opened as 2.5-point underdogs but the line jumped the fence and now across the board Seattle is a 1.5-point home favorite.
Los Angeles Rams Fantasy Spin
Robert Woods caught 13-of-15 targets for 164 yards in the Rams’ Week 4 loss to the Bucs. Woods has yet to visit the end zone this season, but this was a much-needed big game for his fantasy owners after Woods had lines of 8-70 > 2-33 > 3-40 in the opening three weeks. It helped that Jared Goff threw the ball 68 times for a career-best 517 yards Sunday. Woods will again be on the WR2 map Thursday night against the Seahawks in Seattle. It would be nice to see him visit the end zone, but Cooper Kupp is dominating down in the red zone.
Seattle Seahawks Fantasy Spin
Will Dissly caught 7-of-8 targets for 57 yards and one score in Seattle’s Week 4 win over the Cardinals. It’s the third consecutive game Dissly’s hit pay dirt in, now having totaled 18/169/4 on 19 targets since returning from injury in Week 2. The second-year tight end infamously flashed the athleticism of a slug at his combine workout but has done nothing but succeed as Russell Wilson’s preferred red zone option with six touchdowns in eight NFL appearances. Consider Dissly a TE1 in 12-team leagues moving forward, especially with Nick Vannett long gone to Pittsburgh.
Los Angeles
The Rams are 1-5 against the spread in their last six appearances on Thursday.
Seattle
The Seahawks are a near-perfect 7-0-2 against the number in their last nine games played on Thursday.
Thursday Night NFL Prediction
The Rams are just 1-4 against the spread in their last five games versus the Seahawks and have failed to cover in nine of their last 12 contests in Seattle. However, despite their 55-40 loss to the Bucs last Sunday, I do see the Rams rebounding tonight. First and foremost, they’re the better team despite their issues. The defense has been excellent save for their performance last week and with the way the Seahawks tend to be one-dimensional on offense, I like Aaron Donald and Co. to rebound. On the other side, the Rams have had their issues offensively but hung 40 points on the board last week as they tried to out-pace their own defense. The Seahawks faced Andy Dalton, Mason Rudolph (who replaced Ben Roethlisberger in the first half of Week 2), Teddy Bridgewater and rookie Kyler Murray thus far. Even though Jared Goff has had his issues, he will be the best challenge Seattle has faced to date.
