Jets vs. Bills Free Pick
AFC East rivals will battle in Buffalo this weekend when the 0-3 Bills host the 2-1 New York Jets at 1:00PM ET. Let’s preview this matchup and make a pick for this game.
Before making our pick for this contest, let’s first take a look at the odds.
Oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL.com have made the Jets 5-point favorites over the Bills, while the over/under total is currently sitting at 36.5.
These are definitely two teams heading in different directions. The Jets have won two straight over divisional opponents and have looked impressive while doing it (especially quarterback Mark Sanchez). The Bills, on the other hand, were crushed in Green Bay two weeks ago and while they gave the Patriots a fight last Sunday, they ultimately fell to 0-3 on the season.
So lay the points and pick the Jets, right? Not so fast.
Oddsmakers are always in-tune with how a team has looked and the Jets have covered the spread rather easily the past two weeks. Now they’re a road team laying five points against a divisional opponent who lost last week, but who hung 30 points on the Patriots in New England (and not to mentioned covered themselves). The value is actually with the Bills here.
The Free Pick:
Oddsmakers have overvalued you the Jets while enticing bettors to take the Bills. So take the points and pick the Bills, because even though the Jets have looked good the past two weeks, they’re due for a small letdown. Divisional games are generally pretty close as it is and seeing as how this game will be played in Buffalo, there’s a lot of value in taking the Bills. The move to Ryan Fitzpatrick at quarterback paid off last week and even though New York’s defense is stingy, I still like Buffalo +5 at home.
