Cardinals vs. Chargers Odds
The San Diego Chargers are 1-2 on the year, but oddsmakers have made them heavy favorites for Sunday’s game over the Arizona Cardinals. Let’s take a look at the point spread.
Bet Cardinals vs. Chargers Odds
Oddsmakers from online sports book BroburySports.com have made the Chargers 9.5-point favorites over the Cardinals in Week 4. The over/under total for this game has been set at 46.5 points.
The Chargers have stumbled out of the gates to start the season. They were victims of a fired up Chiefs team in Week 1 (a 21-14 loss), beat the Jaguars 38-13 at home in Week 2 and then turned the ball over five times in a 27-20 loss to the Seahawks last Sunday.
The Cardinals have an opposite record at 2-1. They beat the Rams 17-13 in their opener, were crushed 41-7 by the Falcons in Week 2 and were then fortunate to beat the Raiders 24-23 last Sunday after Oakland kicker Sebastian Janikowski missed a 32-yarder as time expired.
The Cardinals have struggled mightily throwing the ball this year. They rank 25th in passing yards, compared to 13th on the ground. Defensively, they’re allowing opponents to rush for 146.3 yards per game on them, and rank 19th in passing yards allowed with 231.3 YPG.
That could be a problem considering the Chargers have the second best passing offense in the league and the 12th best running game. They also rank 6th in passing yards allowed and 9th in rushing yards allowed. (They’re allowing under 100 yards per game – 91.3 to be exact.)
The underdog is 4-1 against the spread in the last five meetings between these two teams, while the road team is 5-0 against the number in the last five overall meetings.
