Titans vs. Giants Free Pick
Two teams looking to rebound from bad performances last Sunday square off in Week 3 of the 2010 NFL season, as the New York Giants host the Tennessee Titans at 1:00PM ET. Here’s our prediction for this game.
Before we make a prediction for Sunday’s game, let’s take a look at the odds, where oddsmakers from online sports book Sportsbook.com have made the Giants 3-point home favorites over the Titans in Week 3. The over/under total for this game is 42.5 points.
One of the big factors that went into making this prediction is what the two teams did last week. Both the Titans and Giants played like garbage in Week 2, but there are some key differences that you can draw from those games.
The Titans outgained the Steelers in almost every category, but because they turned the ball over a whopping seven times, Pittsburgh easily earned the win. The Giants, on the other hand, were dominated in every phase of the game and are now a 3-point favorite, mostly because of home field advantage.
The Prediction:
Both of these teams have had issues with turnovers and if the sloppy play continues, then it makes it incredibly hard to make a prediction on this game. However, the Titans are coming off somewhat of a phony loss in that they outgained the Steelers but turned the ball over so many times that they let a potential victory slip out of their hands. Vince Young was benched in that game, but there aren’t a lot of quarterbacks who look good against Pittsburgh defense anyway. He’ll bounce back against a Giants’ defense that is reeling thanks to Peyton Manning and the Colts, and Chris Johnson could have another big day. This game will come down to the all-mighty turnover, but the Titans will be focused and for this prediction, I’m taking them and the points.
