NFL Week 4 Betting Report
Week 4 features key divisional matchups in Baltimore, Buffalo and Chicago, as well as a pivotal early-season tilt between NFC contenders. Here’s a look at the opening odds for each matchup, as well as where the early money is going.
Thursday Night Football
The Packers host the Eagles on TNF and after opening as a 2.5-point home favorite, the line has jumped to Green Bay -4.5. The early money is on the unbeaten Packers, with 73% of the betting tickets landing on Green Bay. No wonder the line jumped two full points.
Sunday Early
The Ravens opened as a 3.5-point home favorite versus the Browns, who are now 5.5-point favorites and are receiving only 20% of the betting tickets as of this writing. The Ravens suffered their first loss of the season in Week 3, coming up five points short to the Chiefs in Kansas City. As of this writing, the result of the Browns-Rams matchup has yet to be decided.
Continuing with Sunday’s early action, the Texans are 4-point home favorites versus the Panthers, the Lions are 7-point home dogs versus the Chiefs (who opened as 4.5-point favorites) and the Patriots are laying 7.5 points to the Bills after Buffalo opened as 6.5-point dogs. The pesky Colts are also 7-point home favorites versus the Raiders (who opened as 6-point underdogs) while the Dolphins are a whopping 17-point home underdog to the Chargers, who opened at 16.5-point favorites.
Finally, the 1-2 Falcons host the Titans, who are now 5-point underdogs after opening as a 4.5-point dog, while the Giants are 3-point home favorites versus NFC East rivals the Redskins. Washington opened as 2-point underdogs but the line has moved up to the key number of three.
Sunday Late Games
In the late action, the Rams are 9.5-point home favorites versus the visiting Bucs, who are receiving around 46% of the betting tickets early in the week. The Seahawks are also 4-point road favorites to the Cardinals, who opened as a field goal underdog when the lines were released. The Bears are also 3-point home dogs to the Vikings while the Broncos are 3-point home favorites versus the Jaguars, who are receiving just under 80% of the betting tickets of this writing.
Sunday Night Football
The SNF matchup figures to be a good one, as the Saints host the Cowboys at 8:20 p.m. ET. New Orleans pulled off a small upset on Sunday in Seattle while Dallas thumped Miami to improve to 3-0 on the year. After opening as a 2.5-point road favorite, the Cowboys are now 3-point faves to beat the Saints, who are receiving just 17% of the betting tickets as of this writing.
Monday Night Football
AFC North rivals the Bengals and Steelers will meet in Pittsburgh for Monday Night Football. The Steelers, who are now 0-3 despite forcing a bevy of turnovers in Santa Clara on Sunday, are 4.5-point home favorites after opening as a 3.5-point fave. Despite being 0-3 themselves, the Bengals are receiving 56% of the betting tickets.
