The Patriots are 2-0 overall and 2-0 against the spread despite their quarterback issues. Tom Brady has been suspended for the first two games and will be for tonight and next week. Jimmy Garaoppolo sprained his AC join last week and had to leave the game, but had been playing well before the injury. He is listed as doubtful for tonight’s game, which puts rookie Jacoby Brissett under enter. Brissett stepped in last week and was 6 of 9 passing for 92 yards. He also rushed for 12 yards. It’s unclear if the Patriots will scale back the offense for the rookie and rely on LeGarrette Blount in the backfield, but tight end Rob Gronkowski is still questionable to make his 2016 debut because of a hamstring injury. Gronk being on the field would be a good safety valve for the young QB. Defensively, New England is giving up 22.5 points and 410 yards per game right now. They are allowing 329 passing yards per game, but part of that is due to teams playing them from behind.
