Colts vs. 49ers Odds
San Francisco is 1-1 on the season, 1-0 at home and 1-1 against the spread. Indianapolis is 1-1 overall, 0-2 against the spread and playing in its road opener. Indianapolis has won its last two against San Francisco.
Trends show that the road team is 4-0 against the spread in the last four games of this series and the underdog is 4-1 ATS in the last 5 in this series. The Colts are also 8-1 ATS in their last 9 games after a loss.
According to oddsmakers from Bovada.lv, San Francisco is the clear favorite at home, as the 49ers have odds of -10 points against the Colts on Sunday. The over/under total for the game has been set at 46 points (View Matchup). The opening odds for this game had the 49ers favored by 11.5 points. That was the peak for the spread before it fell back to 10 points. The over/under total for the game opened at 45.5 points and hit a peak of 46.5 before falling back to 46.
The 49ers are coming off a humbling 29-3 loss at Seattle last week. The 49ers were soundly dominated by Seattle, as the offense was held to just 207 total yards, allowing three sacks and committing five turnovers. Quarterback Colin Kaepernick was just 13 of 28 passing for 127 yards and three interceptions while rushing for 87 yards on nine carries. The rest of the team had just 13 rushing yards on 11 carries. The San Francisco defense played respectable, allowing only 290 yards to Seattle.
The Colts are coming off a 24-20 loss at home to the Dolphins, but the team made bigger news mid-week when they gave up a first-round draft pick for Cleveland running back Trent Richardson. Indy has been lacking in play-making from the running back position and Richardson gives them that immediately, though he may need some time to learn the playbook. Richardson joins Andrew Luck in the backfield. Luck has thrown for 499 yards with three touchdowns through the first two games.
In terms of Injuries, Indianapolis linebacker Kavell Conner and safety LaRon Landry are both questionable with ankle injuries. San Francisco tight end Vernon Davis is also questionable due to a hamstring issue.
The Public Bets for this game are currently backing San Francisco, as the 49ers are getting 52% of the wagers with odds of -10 points against the Colts.
