The Chiefs are coming off a momentum-building win in the opener, beating the Chargers 33-27 in overtime after trailing 24-3 in the second half. The surge for KC not only got the Chiefs a win, but allowed them to hit the over as well. Alex Smith finished with one of his best games, throwing for 363 yards and two touchdowns. The team also got a lot of big plays from Spencer Ware, who rushed for 70 yards and a score and also had 129 receiving yards. While the defense gave up 388 yards in the game, it really tightened up in the second half and looked more like the KC defense we would expect.
The Texans opened the season with a 23-14 home win over the Bears last week, hitting the under for their fifth time in their last six games. Houston was dominant on defense, holding the Bears to just 258 total yards while picking up five sacks and forcing one turnover. Offensively, Houston had solid showings from new acquisitions Brock Osweiler and Lamar Miller. Miller had 106 rushing yards on 28 carries while Osweiler threw for 231 yards and two touchdowns on 22 of 35 passing.

This game should be physical and full of emotion. The Texans are trying to show they are a different team than the one that lost 30-0 to KC in the playoffs last year. Still, they face a tough Kansas City team that isn’t easily beaten. The Chiefs defense should be stronger this week after a good second half against San Diego. Look for them to give Osweiler problems and stuff the run. Houston should also be able to step up on defense and pose problems for Alex Smith with their tenacious pass rush. Points should be hard to come by in this game.
