Cowboys vs. Redskins Prediction
Which team will bounce back from a season-opening loss this week when the Washington Redskins host the Dallas Cowboys today at 1PM ET?
According to the oddsmakers at BetDSI, the Redskins are a slight favorite at home, as they are getting odds of -3 points against the Cowboys. The over/under total for the game is currently listed at 45.5 points. The road team has won five straight in this series and has covered the spread in four straight.
The Cowboys suffered a 20-19 loss at home to the Giants last week. Dallas was a 1-point favorite in the game and they have now failed to cover in their last five regular season games. Dak Prescott made his first start for Dallas last week and threw for 227 yards, but was just 25 of 45 passing. The issue for the Cowboys was their run game, which produced just 101 yards on 30 carries. Ezekiel Elliott debuted with 51 yards and a touchdown on 20 carries.
The Redskins suffered a 38-16 loss at home to the Steelers last Monday night. Washington just couldn’t stop the Pittsburgh offense, giving up 437 yards to the Steelers. They gave up 147 rushing yards and allowed Big Ben to throw for 300 yards. On offense, Kirk Cousins threw for 329 yards, but also had two interceptions. The Redskins attempted just 12 rushes in the game. They will have to have more balance this week.

The Cowboys just aren’t the same team without Tony Romo. That was evident last year and seems to be true this season as well. Prescott could be a strong quarterback someday, but the rookie is in over his head right now, especially if teams are able to stop the Dallas ground game. Washington was able to move the ball last week, just couldn’t stop Pittsburgh. The Skins should be able to get stops against this Dallas offense.
