NASHVILLE, TN (The Spread) – The Tennessee Titans and San Diego Chargers are both looking to get to 2-1 when the two meet on Sunday at 1PM ET on CBS.

View Current NFL Odds

San Diego is 1-1 on the season, 1-0 on the road and 2-0 against the spread. Tennessee is 1-1 overall, 2-0 against the spread and playing in its home opener. San Diego has won nine straight over the Titans.

Trends show that the Chargers have covered the spread in eight straight meetings with the Titans, but the home team is 5-1 ATS in the last six in this series. The two have hit the over in 5 of their last 7 meetings as well.

According to oddsmakers from Bovada.lv, Tennessee is the favorite at home, as the Titans have a point spread of -3 against the Chargers. The over/under total for the game has been set at 44 points (View Matchup). The opening odds for this game had the Titans favored by 3 points as well. The spread hasn’t changed. The over/under total opened at 43.5 points, but quickly made the push up to 44.

The Titans suffered a tough 30-24 overtime loss to the Texans on the road in Week 2. Tennessee has been playing well, mostly due to its defense, which is allowing just 323 yards per game. The offense hasn’t been having great success, as the Titans rank last in the NFL in passing yards right now, averaging only 123 per game. Jake Locker has thrown for just 273 yards and two touchdowns on the season, but Chris Johnson has rushed for 166 yards on 50 carries.

Like the Titans, the Chargers can credit their one loss as a heart-breaker to the Texans. San Diego bounced back last week with a 33-30 win at Philadelphia. The Chargers have been suspect on defense, allowing 30.5 points and 480 yards per contest, but the offense has been moving the ball thanks to Philip Rivers. The veteran quarterback has thrown for 614 yards and seven touchdowns through two games, while receiver Eddie Royal has five touchdowns catches this season.

Bet on NFL Week 3 Odds

In terms of Injuries, San Diego receiver Malcom Floyd (neck) is doubtful for the game while linebacker Manti Te’o (foot) is questionable. San Diego running back Shonn Greene (knee) is questionable, as is linebacker Zaviar Gooden (ankle).

The Public Bets for this game are currently backing San Diego, as the Chargers are getting 64% of the wagers with odds of +3 points at Tennessee.
