Vikings hold back 49ers
The Minnesota Vikings are coming off a 24-16 win at home over the San Francisco 49ers in the opener. The 49ers had a lot of buzz coming into the season and Minnesota was able to lock them up. The Vikings covered as a 6-point favorite and went under the 46.5-point total. They have hit the under in three of their last four games.
The Vikings were strong on defense once again, holding the 49ers to 327 total yards while creating four turnovers and picking up three sacks. Offensively, Minnesota put up 343 yards. Kirk Cousins threw for 244 yards and two touchdowns on 20 of 36 passing in his debut with the Vikings. Adam Thielen caught six passes for 102 yards while Dalvin Cook was held to 40 rushing yards on 16 carries in his first game back from a knee injury.
Packers survive the Bears
The Packers picked up a 24-23 win over the Chicago Bears last week, overcoming a 20-0 deficit and a knee injury to Aaron Rodgers to still win the game. The Packers did fail to cover as a 6.5-point favorite, but they did hit the over of 45 points. Green bay has hit the over in five of their last six games.
Rodgers comes into this week questionable to play due to the knee injury he suffered last weekend. He ended up throwing for 286 yards and three touchdowns to lead Green Bay to the win. Randall Cobb caught nine passes for 142 yards, including the game-winning 75-yard touchdown. Defensively, Green bay held Chicago to 294 total yards, including just 155 passing yards.
NFL Betting Trends
Minnesota
The Vikings have hit the under in 18 of their last 22 Week 2’s and in 20 of their last 26 against NFC North teams.
Green Bay
The Packers have hit the over in four straight games in September and in eight of their last 10 division games.
Prediction:
The Vikings have a great defense and I think they will be just fine going on the road. Rodgers won’t be at 100 percent if he happens to play at all. His limited mobility on the bad knee should lead to some problems for the Green Bay offense. The Vikings have potential to put up some offense, but I think will struggle a little bit on the road in a hostile environment.
NFL Prediction: Vikings/Packers Under 46.5
