Panthers vs. Giants Updated Odds
The New York Giants will host the Carolina Panthers when they open up their new digs at the New Meadowlands Stadium this Sunday. Let’s check out the game matchup.
Game Preview:
The Panthers are in transition as they’ll open the season with a new full-time quarterback. Matt Moore takes over for Jake Delhomme, who signed with the Browns after Carolina dumped him in the offseason. The Panthers will remain a running team with DeAngelo Williams and Jonathan Stewart, although their defense will be something to keep an eye on seeing as how young and inexperienced they are on that side of the ball.
The Giants are in transition as well, although it all comes on defense. Bill Sheridan was fired and replaced by Perry Fewell as New York’s new defensive coordinator. Under Fewell, the Giants should get back to doing what they do best: rushing the passer with their deep and talented defensive line. They also added safety Antrel Rolle to boost the depth they have in the secondary and signed Keith Bulluck to play outside linebacker.
It’ll be interesting to see how the Giants’ front seven does against the Panthers duo of running backs. That’ll more than likely be the key to how this game pans out.
