49ers 2013-14 Season Odds
SAN FRANCISCO, CA (The Spread) – As we head into Week 1 of the NFL regular season, the 49ers are favored to win the NFC West, the NFC title, and the NFL title in 2013.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the 49ers are 6/1 co-favorites with the Broncos to win the 2014 Super Bowl and they’re 4/1 favorites to win the NFC title again this season. They’re also +110 to win the NFC West Division and have an over/under of 11 for number of total wins they’ll have in the 2013-14 regular season. They’re currently -325 to make the playoffs and +250 to miss the postseason altogether.
The Niners had a somewhat productive offseason. They traded for receiver Anquan Boldin and dealt former 2012 first-round pick A.J. Jenkins to the Chiefs for their 2011 first-rounder, Jon Baldwin. They also signed free agents Nnamdi Asomugha, Craig Dahl and dealt quarterback Alex Smith to Kansas City in exchange for a second-round pick.
In the draft the 49ers traded up for LSU safety Eric Reid and in the second they took Cornellius “Tank” Carradine and Vance McDonald. In the third they landed outside linebacker Corey Lemonier from Auburn and in the fourth they took a flier on receiver Quinton Patton from Louisiana Tech and South Carolina running back Marcus Lattimore. In the seventh they found their developmental quarterback of the future in B.J. Daniels.
Thanks to a stout running game, a physical defense and an explosive quarterback in Colin Kaepernick, the Niners are primed for another run at the Super Bowl. Losing receiver Michael Crabtree certainly took a lot of wind out of their sails, but this team is so loaded at other positions that it should overcome the loss of Crabtree to at least make the postseason. And once they’re in the playoffs, this team has proven that anything can happen.
