2013 nfl week 1 las vegas odds point spreads totals

(The Spread) - What are the main differences between Week 1's online NFL odds and the point spreads that have been posted in Vegas? Let's take a look.

Most of the point spreads that have been posted online for Week 1 are the same, or at least very similar to the ones posted in Las Vegas. There are some key differences, however, starting with the season kickoff in Denver on Thursday night between the Broncos and Ravens.

According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Broncos opened as 9-point favorites but the spread has been bet down to 7.5, including at places like the Las Vegas Hilton. The total, meanwhile, has stayed steady at 48 points both online and in Vegas.

One other key difference between spreads is in the second Monday night game between the Chargers and Texans. Online Houston remains either a 3 or 3.5-point road favorite but the consensus in Las Vegas is that San Diego is a 4-point home underdog. The total has remained pretty consistent, as it's either 44 or 44.5 in Vegas or online.

On Sunday night, most online books list the Cowboys as 3-point favorites over their NFC East rivals, the Giants. But the consensus in Las Vegas is that Dallas is a 3.5-point favorite. That hook could make all the difference in the world for bettors, especially with this being a divisional game.
