Raiders-Hawks Preview

The Oakland Raiders look to rebound from a brutal showing last week when they travel to Seattle to take on the Seahawks on Thursday night at 10:00PM ET.

The Raiders were absolutely hammered by the New Orleans Saints 45-7 at home last week. Oakland failed to cover the 2.5-point spread as an underdog while the over 42 covered with the 52 points that were scored.

The Seahawks had better luck, as quarterback Matt Hasselbeck threw two touchdown passes in a 14-10 victory over the Chiefs. Since they were 3-point underdogs, the Seahawks covered the spread, while the 24 points went under the posted total of 39.

Oddsmakers from online sports book SPORTSBETTING.com have made the Raiders 3-point underdogs on Thursday night against the Seahawks. The over/under total has been posted at 36.

The Raiders are trying to work out many of their kinks before their regular season opener, so expect head coach Tom Cable to play his starters longer than just a couple of series. Seattle, on the other hand, will rest Hasselbeck and many of its starters.
