The Lions are coming off a 30-14 loss at home to the Bengals in last week’s preseason action. The big issue thus far for Detroit has been establishing a run game. The Lions were held to just 73 yards on 27 carries last week and they also allowed Matthew Stafford to be hit a number of times. The defense held Cincinnati to under 300 yards, but still gave up some key third downs and big plays to allow the Bengals to put up 30 points.
The Ravens are coming off a 19-18 win over the Colts to move to 2-0 in the preseason. Joe Flacco didn’t take the field in the win, but should see some action this week. One area Baltimore did well last week was on the ground, rushing for 120 yards on 30 carries. The defense held Indy to just 93 rushing yards as a team.

With Baltimore getting Flacco on the field and being able to run the ball, it shouldn’t have much trouble at home against the Lions. Detroit won’t be able to run the ball on Baltimore and backup QB Dan Orlovsky has thrown a pick six in each of the Lions’ first two preseason games. Look for more struggles from the Detroit offense.
