DETROIT, MI (The Spread) - After retooling the roster, the Detroit Lions hope to make noise again in the NFC North.

According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Lions are 50/1 long shots to win the 2014 Super Bowl and are 28/1 to win the NFC Conference this season. They also have +500 odds to win the NFC North Division and carry an over/under of 8 for number of total wins they'll have in 2013-14.

The biggest offseason move the Lions made was signing running back Reggie Bush to a four-year contract. They also added defensive end Jason Jones and safety Glover Quin while signing cornerback Chris Houston to a new extension. In April they signed kicker David Akers to replace long-time veteran Jason Hanson, who retired.

In the 2013 NFL Draft, the Lions selected BYU defensive end Ziggy Ansah with the overall pick and nabbed Mississippi State cornerback Darius Slay in the second round. In the third they tabbed guard Larry Warford with the 65th overall pick and in the fourth they took Devin Taylor of South Carolina.

The Lions certainly have enough offensive fire power in the passing game thanks to receiver Calvin Johnson and quarterback Matthew Stafford, and the addition of Bush should dramatically upgrade their situation at running back. If the offseason additions they made on defense make an impact, then this could be a sleeper wild card contender.
