Hall of Fame Game Free Pick
CLEVELAND, OH (ATS Consultants) - The NFL preseason kicks off tonight with its annual Hall of Fame Game from Cleveland, OH. Will it be a low-scoring game when the Dolphins and Cowboys meet at 8:00PM ET?
NFL Line Movement: The Cowboys opened as 1-point favorites but the line has since flipped in favor of the Dolphins, who are either 2.5 or 3-point favorites depending on which book you view. This line movement, in all likelihood, has occurred because quarterback Tony Romo will not suit up for Dallas.
NFL Public Betting: Of the current wagers placed on tonight's game, 54% of the betting public currently favors the Dolphins.
NFL Free Pick: Take the under. According to the latest NFL trends, the Dolphins are: 4-17 last 21 under on field turf and 8-22-1 under last 31 overall.
The Dallas Cowboys don't need five preseason games to get ready for the regular season. At least Tony Romo doesn't. The veteran quarterback is expected to sit this one out as he's coming off back surgery to remove a cyst in April. Considering Dallas' offensive line is still a work-in-progress, that's probably the best move for the Cowboys. That means a lot of Kyle Orton and Nick Stephens. The biggest pickup in the offseason for Miami was speedy wide receiver Mike Wallace from Pittsburgh. Unfortunately for Miami QB Ryan Tannehill, it looks as though Wallace (groin) and his other starting receiver Brian Hartline (calf) will sit this one out. That means a lot of handoffs to RB Daniel Thomas. Miami's backup quarterback situation features Pat Devlin and Aaron Corp. That means expect the defense to rule and not a lot of points.
