Dolphins vs. Cowboys Free Pick
Cleveland, OH (The Spread) - The 2013 Hall of Fame Game kicks off at 8:00PM ET tonight when the Dolphins take on the Cowboys in Cleveland, OH.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Dolphins are currently 2.5-point favorites in tonight's game, while the over/under total is currently sitting at 32.5 points. The Cowboys did open as a 1-point favorite but with quarterback Tony Romo not expected to play, the spread flipped in favor of Miami.
With the interior of Dallas' offensive line completely decimated by injuries, it makes no sense to have Romo suit up for tonight's game. He's also coming off minor back surgery and reported to camp a hair out of shape, so backups Kyle Orton, Nick Stephens and Alex Tanney will handle the snaps for the Cowboys tonight.
As for the Dolphins, big-money free agent Mike Wallace is not expected to play due to a groin injury. He's been sidelined since Monday but he is expected to practice next week. Fellow receiver Brian Hartline is also dealing with a calf injury, although he is healthy enough to play on Sunday night.
The player to keep an eye on tonight is Miami quarterback Ryan Tannehill, who reportedly is turning heads in training camp this year. The second-year quarterback looks comfortable running Mike Sherman's offense and has made considerable leaps in his command of the huddle and his leadership.
With the Bills and Jets devoid of talent and the Patriots in the midst of a tumultuous offseason, the Dolphins could challenge for a wild card berth if Tannehill makes significant strides in his development. Of course, if left tackle Jonathan Martin continues to struggle in pass protection, he could throw a wrench in the works.
2013 Hall of Fame Game Odds
Miami Dolphins -2.5 (32.5)
Dallas Cowboys +2.5
