Receiving Prop Odds

Oddsmakers have established player prop odds for which receivers/tight ends will compile the most receiving yards for the 2009 NFL Season and have made Larry Fitzgerald the favorite.

Bet NFL Future Odds

The Arizona Cardinals’ dynamic wideout has been made a 13/4 favorite by oddsmakers from online sports book to have the most receiving yards in 2009. Following Fitzgerald are Andre Johnson (3/1), Randy Moss (5/1), Anquan Boldin (7/1), Steve Smith (7/1), Reggie Wayne (7/1), Roddy White (8/1) and Calvin Johnson (8/1).

All seven of the names mentioned above bring tremendous value to bettors for various reasons. Johnson is easily the best receiver not named Larry Fitzgerald in the league and routine puts up great numbers despite inconsistent quarterback play in Houston.

Moss should be outstanding once again with Tom Brady ready to rebound from knee surgery in New England. Boldin is upset about his contract, but plays in an outstanding offense and across from Fitzgerald, so he often faces single coverage. When healthy, Smith is just as dynamic as Fitzgerald and Johnson, and Carolina quarterback Jake Delhomme often locks his eyes on Smith like a 15-year-old boy looking at a Playboy magazine for the first time.

Wayne plays in a fantastic passing offense and has Peyton Manning throwing him the ball. White is quickly becoming one of the best receivers in the league and will be aided by the Falcons’ addition of Tony Gonzalez (25/1), as well as Matt Ryan’s continued development at quarterback. Calvin Johnson, although he plays for the brutal Lions, could blow away every receiver in the league in terms of yardage if either Daunte Culpepper or rookie Matthew Stafford can get him the ball before they get buried under Detroit’s awful offensive line.

One potential sleeper is Kansas City wideout Dwayne Bowe, who will have the opportunity to play Fitzgerald’s role in Todd Haley’s offense now that Haley (Arizona’s former head coach) has taken over as head coach for the Chiefs. Bowe is a fantastic talent and should only get better now that Matt Cassel is throwing him the ball.
