John Fox enters his second season as head coach of the Bears after leading the team to a 6-10 record in 2015. Chicago lost four of its last five to close out the season. Fox lost OC Adam Gase to the Dolphins during the offseason and now Dowell Loggains has taken over the position.

The Bears will be led by Jay Cutler at quarterback again this season. He enters his 8th season with the franchise after throwing for 3,659 yards and 21 touchdowns in 2015. He also had 11 interceptions. Before 2015 started, the Bears lost rookie receiver Kevin White, but he is healthy and joins Alshon Jeffery at the position, giving Cutler two large and athletic targets to throw to. In the backfield, the team parted ways with veteran RB Matt Forte. He rushed for 898 yards and four touchdowns last season. Taking over will be Jeremy Langford, who had 537 yards and six scores in his rookie season.
On defense, the Bears were a middle-of-the-pack unit. They allowed 345.4 yards per game, which ranked 14th in the league. The team lost Shea McClellin in free agency. He was second on the team in tackles in 2015. In the NFL Draft, the team drafted Georgia LB Leonard Floyd ninth overall and took Florida DE Jonathan Bullard in the third round. Those two should add to a defense that had 35 sacks in 2015. Lamarr Houston, Pernell McPhee and Willie Young each have over 6 sacks. The big concern with the defense is creating turnovers, as they had just eight interceptions and six forced fumbles for the season last year.

The Bears have a tough schedule to open the season, making trips to Houston, Dallas, Indy and Green Bay while hosting the likes of Philly, Detroit, Jacksonville and Minnesota. Despite that, the second half of the schedule features a lot of winnable games. If the Bears can navigate the early challenges and steal a win or two, they can certainly push for a winning season. With White in the mix at receiver, Cutler should be able to put up numbers like he did when Brandon Marshall was on the team.
