Raiders 2015 NFL Season Odds
OAKLAND, CA (The Spread) – The Raiders haven’t won more than four games since 2011 but will their misfortunate change in 2015?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the over/under has been set at 5.5 for the number of wins the Raiders will rack up in the 2015 regular season. Oakland is also 66/1 to win the 2016 Super Bowl and 33/1 to win the AFC Conference Championship.
The Raiders added veterans Curtis Lofton, Christian Ponder, Malcolm Smith, Michael Crabtree, Nate Allen, Rodney Hudson, Roy Helu, Trent Richardson and J’Marcus Webb in free agency. Among their losses were cornerbacks Carlos Rogers and Chimdi Chekwa, running back Darren McFadden, quarterback Matt Schaub and center Stefen Wisniewski.
In the draft the team gave quarterback Derek Carr another weapon in the form of Alabama receiver Amari Cooper, who was the Raiders’ first-round selection. They also took Florida State defensive end Mario Edwards Jr. with their second-round pick and tight end Clive Walford of Miami in the third.
Even with the improvements they made this offseason, it’s hard to envision the Raiders winning more than five games in a division that still employs the likes of the Broncos, Chiefs and Chargers. Carr and the offense would have to take a significant step in his development and while we love Cooper, it might be another year before the Raiders are a serious contender.
