AFCSouth Division Odds to Win
LAS VEGAS, NV (The Spread) – To nobody’s surprise, the Colts are currently the clear favorite to win the AFC South Division in 2015-16.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Colts have 1/4 odds to repeat as division champs, while the Texans are 9/2 and the Titans are 12/1. The true long shots are the Jaguars, who are 20/1 to win the AFC South this season.
The Colts had a busy offseason, adding receiver Andre Johnson and running back Frank Gore via free agency, as well as Miami receiver Phillip Dorsett via the draft. Indianapolis’ prime objective is to continue to build around quarterback Andrew Luck, who seems destined to reach a Super Bowl early in his career if he can figure out a way to beat the Patriots.
As for the Texans, quarterback production remains a question mark but the rest of their team is shaping up nicely. They added veterans Vince Wilfork, Stevie Browna nd Rahim Moore to a defense that already employs J.J. Watt, while Kevin Johnson and Benardrick McKinney were also added via the draft. If Houston can get even average play from its quarterback position, then it could challenge for at least a wild card berth.
