Dolphins given Tannehill an extension
MIAMI, FL (TheSpread) – After an already strong offseason, the Miami Dolphins made a new commitment to quarterback Ryan Tannehill, signing him to an extension on Monday.
The new deal with Tannehill will keep him under contract until the 2020 season and is worth $96 million, including $45 million in guaranteed money, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
“We are thrilled that we were able to sign Ryan to an extension,”” Dolphins vice president Mike Tannenbaum said in a statement. “He is an ascending talent, a team leader and checks all of the boxes you are looking for at the position.”
According to the latest oddsmakers at GTBets, the Dolphins are currently listed at 33/1 to win the Super Bowl in 2016. The Seattle Seahawks are listed as the favorites at 6/1, while the Green Bay Packers have 7/1 odds.
Tannehill is entering his fourth season in the NFL and with the Dolphins in 2015. He has thrown for 11,252 yards with 63 touchdowns and 42 interceptions in his first three seasons. Last season, Tannehill had his best season yet, throwing for 4,045 yards while completing 66.4 percent of his attempts. He threw for a career-high 27 touchdowns passes with a career-low 12 interceptions.
