Will Mariota go No. 2 overall in draft?
CHICAGO, IL (The Spread) – The odds suggest that Oregon quarterback Marcus Mariota will be the No. 2 selection in Thursday night’s NFL draft.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, Mariota is a 1/5 favorite to be the No. 2 pick in this year’s NFL draft. Florida edge rusher Dante Fowler Jr. is currently 15/2 to be the second player to come off the board on Thursday while USC’s Leonard Williams is 3/1 and Jameis Winston is 12/1. “Any Other Player” has odds of 9/1.
The Tennessee Titans currently own the No. 2 pick but there have been rumors that the Cleveland Browns, Philadelphia Eagles and/or San Diego Chargers are interested in trading up in efforts to take Mariota. The Titans currently have Zach Mettenberger as their starter, but they could view Mariota as the next face of the franchise.
If the Titans take Mariota, Williams has been a popular choice among mock drafters. He’s widely considered as the top defensive player in this year’s draft and would fit well as either a defensive end or tackle in Tennessee.
