Pats favored over Steelers in opener
FOXBORO, MA (The Spread) – The 2015 NFL regular season schedule has been released and the opener will be in Foxboro when the Patriots will host the Steelers on Thursday, September 10.
It’s become tradition that the Super Bowl winner from the season before hosts the opener the following year. The Patriots knocked off the Seahawks in a thrilling Super Bowl and now Tom Brady will oppose Ben Roethlisberger in what should be an excellent NFL opener in 2015.
According to oddsmakers from Las Vegas Westgate SuperBook, the Patriots have opened as 6-point home favorites over the Steelers, who will be without star running back Le’Veon Bell for the matchup. Bell has been suspended for the first three games after violating the league’s policy on substance abuse.
One other note about the schedule: The Packers will host the Bears on Thanksgiving night, which will be the same evening that Green Bay is expected to retire former quarterback Brett Favre’s No. 4.
